Around the world in 125 days
Research - where to go?
We went to travel agents and travel shows and collected over 50 brochures. Then we spent many nights and weekends, poring over them to find the ones we needed. We had to give up some interesting tours because they did not meet the criteria. At the end, we came up with five tours:
- "Eastern Europe, Russia & Scandinavia". A two and half week coach tour by Cosmo.
- "From Istanbul to Jerusalem" - A 30 days trip by The Imaginative Traveller that could take us to most of the Middle East.
- "Egypt Mysteries of the Nile" - A 15 days trip by Sunquest to Eqypt.
- "The road to Katmandu" - A three-weeks trip again by The Imaginative Traveller. Even though the title said nothing about India, this trip started from Mumbai (Bombay) and covered most of the Northern part of India, before ending in Nepal.
At the time we were also looking for a tour to Australia, but we did not
find anything we liked and decided to go on our own. After all, Australia
is an English-speaking country, an OK place to be on our own.
